Abia APC Elects Two State Party Chairmen

The Abia State chapter of the All progressive Congress, APC, held a parallel State congress on Saturday.

A faction of the party led by Chief Ikechi Emenike held its Congress that elected Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe as chairman at Eziama Mgbaja Ossa hall in Umuahia North Local government.

The Congress was monitored by a two man Congress Committee led by Hajia Rabi Sulu Gambari and Alhaji Graba Dani.

Addressing journalists shortly after the congress, Ndukwe claimed that his election was in line with the constitution of the party, adding that any other group gathering in the name of the party in the State are doing same at their peril.

He said, “There is nothing like parallel congress or factions in Abia APC, anything happening in the party and I’m not around is null and void, that is what the Court said.

“We have had our Congress and I was elected unposed, this Congress stand until when we do another Congress in the State”.

Another faction of the led by the former Governor of the State, Chief Orji Kalu held its Congress that elected Chief Donatus Nwankpa as chairman at the Umuahia township stadium.

The Congress committee by senator Jonathan Zwingina said elected officials of the party in the State that did not obtain nomination form from his Congress committee, is on their own.

He described the congress as
Peaceful and successful.
