Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed his delight at the emergence of Enyimba International Football Club of Aba as the Champions of the 2018/2019 Season of the Nigerian Professional Football League.
With this victory, Enyimba FC has qualified for next season’s CAF Champions League. This is the eighth league title to be won by the Club.
According to Governor Ikpeazu, “after some years of playing their home games outside Aba on account of the reconstruction works at the Enyimba International Stadium, we are delighted that the first season of playing at the refurbished stadium has ended in victory for the Aba Soccer Giants”.
Ikpeazu reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to continue to support the soccer outfit to keep winning laurels and bring honor to the people of Aba and our State.
The Governor expressed his deep gratitude to the Management, Coaching Crew, Players and other staff of the Club for this huge achievement and assured that as soon as they return from the Super Six Tournament, he will personally receive the team and the coveted trophy.
