Recall that there were fear in some quarters last July following the decision of the three man Panel of Justices that struck out the petition of Dawari George who was challenging the electoral Victory of Hon.Boma Goodhead for Asari-Toru/Akuko-Toru Federal Constituency in the March 28th National Assembly elections in Rivers State.

The Tribunal had struck out Dr.Dawari George’s petition on grounds that his Party(APC) failed to notify INEC within the 21days as stipulated in the electoral act 2010 as amended, subsequently the APC and Dawari George approached the court of Appeal over the rulling by the Tribunal.

The Court of Appeal while delivering its Judgement this morning maintained that the Tribunal erred on its rulling because the issue of 21days is a pre-election matter and as such does not include issues meant to be decided by the Tribunal, the Appeallet court subsequently ordered the Tribunal to resume the trial of the Petition brought by Dawari George and the APC
