In northern Borno State, members of the Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad JAS, also referred to as Boko Haram, have launched a number of well-planned attacks against the Islamic State West Africa Province, or ISWAP.
Significant casualties and the seizure of priceless equipment have been the outcomes of these attacks.
Zagazola Makama, a security specialist, claims that numerous ISWAP militants were killed in the attacks, which occurred between December 23 and 24 and targeted well-known ISWAP strongholds in Toumbun Gini, Mangari, Toumbun Saje, and Metele.
He added that the JAS fighters reportedly defeated their ISWAP counterparts, demolishing many camps and capturing 20 motorcycles.
“The attacks have forced ISWAP to abandon its camps, and the group is now focusing on rebuilding its strength, avoiding direct confrontations with JAS in the immediate future,” he wrote via X in a post.
Nigeria’s security and military forces have not yet responded to the situation, though.
