The new National Chairman of the National Rescue Mission (NRM), Chief Edozie Njoku, was sworn in as the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

According to prior reports, during the party’s emergency national convention on Friday, chief Njoku left the APGA and became the National Chairman of the NRM.

Following Amb. Isaac Chigozie Udeh’s resignation during the convention, the former APGA chieftain was named the new National Chairman of the NRM.

According to reports, Mr. Udeh resigned to become the party’s National Organising Secretary.

During Tuesday’s swearing-in and handover event in Abuja, Isaac Chigozie Udeh, the party’s former National Chairman and current National Organising Secretary, discussed his reasons for resigning in favor of Njoku.

He said, “The interest of the party supersedes any individualistic interests, and that is why I paid that price.

“That is why I made that sacrifice to ensure that this party is repositioned to the height that is required of it to win elections in this country.”

According to prior reports, Njoku accepted defeat and promised to abide by the ruling designating Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the APGA’s National Chairman.

This came after the Supreme Court acknowledged the Victor Oye-led party faction, which was supported by Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State.
